New, Pain-Free Technology...Air Abrasion!

At last, cavity treatment without drills or shots!  It's true, now there's a breakthrough technology called Air Abrasion.  Very simply, it's an alternative to the dental drill for most cavities.  Micro-abrasive particles are propelled by a gentle, narrow stream of air.  The particles quickly and gently remove decay from deep and narrow grooves without removing healthy tooth structure.  Best of all, it's pain-free!  For more information, click on "The Latest" from the main menu.

What about sedation?  What is it?

Sedation is available for adult patients who are nervous or apprehensive about having dental work.  Either a low dose of oral sedation or a mixture of oxygen and nitrous oxide is administered via a mask over the patient's nose during the course of treatment.  Nitrous oxide has often been called "laughing gas" because it tends to make you feel a little lightheaded and giggly.  Very simply stated, either form of sedation safely calms the nerves.

Oral sedation and nitrous oxide have been used safely and effectively in our practice for years.  If you feel that apprehension, fear, or fear of pain keeps you from having needed treatment, please ask us about sedation.  We want you to get the treatment you need and be comfortable!
